Launceston General Hospital
An 11-metre wall honouring island journeys and mutton birding traditions within a place of care.
Commissioned for a highly visible 11-metre wall on the Northern Integrated Community Services building at the LGH, this work was created to honour the strong connection between the local Palawa community and the Bass Strait Islands. The design reflects our continued cultural practice of mutton birding, with line work symbolising the journey between the islands and Lutruwita. The artwork acts as a visual Acknowledgement of Country embedding cultural presence within a public healthcare space used by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
