This dual public-private commission involved extensive collaboration with stakeholders, architects, and designers to bring seven bespoke carpets to life. Each uniquely shaped, the largest stretching 15 metres across. Inspired by the wetlands of kanamaluka/Tamar River, the designs embody ancestral and cultural connections to place. These works were created to embed First Nations presence and narrative within the built environment, weaving Country directly into the university’s Launceston campus. The project has received national and international accolades and continues to be celebrated by staff, students, and community alike.
