Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

Commissioned by the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, this artwork responds to the cultural foundation of lutruwita/Tasmania and the Orchestra’s commitment to reconciliation. Nine circular motifs honour the nine original nations of this island, while layered line work evokes cultural knowledge systems that sustain us. The vibrating visual effect speaks to our deep connection with Country, and the energy shared when we come together. The composition can also be read as a form of graphic notation, bridging culture and music.
