Strong Blak Tasmania

In response to the global Black Lives Matter movement and the death of George Floyd, I worked with a group of young Palawa and BIPOC activists to organise peaceful, COVID-safe vigils in Hobart, Launceston, and Devonport. These gatherings were moments of unity, grief, and resistance, amplifying local voices in a global call for justice. Through strategic planning and cultural leadership, we created spaces where community could gather safely and powerfully in the face of systemic injustice.
