Devonport Regional Gallery

Curated by Dave Gough and Louise Daniels and presented by Ten Days on the Island, TERMS showcased works by Tasmanian Aboriginal artists from the gallery’s permanent collection alongside contemporary works on loan. For this exhibition, artists, including myself, selected and presented our own works, ensuring they were shown with consent and cultural context. The resulting display placed our stories and voices at the forefront, creating narratives defined by community rather than curatorial assumption. Artists whose works are within the permanent collection included Aunty Lola Greeno, Dr Julie Gough, Denise Robinson, and Ricky Maynard and artists who contributed works included Caleb Nichols-Mansell, Cheryl Rose, Dave Gough, Karen Smart, and Louise Daniels.
